From the items on the belt, it was a husband and father in front of me. I will never forget his face when he saw the total costs of his groceries show up on the screen. I almost felt bad. It was at the tail end of COVID. It looked like he got sent to the store, with an extensive and detailed list. He double-checked all of the items in his two shopping carts (yes, two!), against his long list.
I am not sure if it was he or his wife who added a bouquet of flowers to the list, but I want to believe that it was him and that he brought them home for her. Sweet. I was afraid the flowers would get cut once he was asked to settle the bill but, extra credit, he kept the flowers.

It is getting warmer and outdoor practices are being added to the family calendar, which means that evenings are getting even busier. Freezer meals can be lifesavers, especially when you're feeling overwhelmed and need to eat something healthy without spending hours in the kitchen. And who wouldn't want to feel like a top-quality chef every night of the week? Here are some tips for making your freezer meal stockpile a success:
Ahhh…those first much anticipated warm, sunny days after a long winter…
That warmth signals the change of seasons. It’s time to shake off that winter blah feeling! It’s the time of year when we tend to open the windows, and let in some fresh air. Many of us get into a spring cleaning frenzy. From swapping out all the linens and wardrobes to deep cleaning every room of our homes - we fall into the well-known steps for a seasonal reset. That seasonal reset doesn't have to stop with your closet and pantry! Why not allow the spring cleaning momentum to propel that energy into other aspects of your life, giving you a feeling of rejuvenation, and leaving you refreshed and ready to fully enjoy the season ahead of you? You might know that I love to work on meal planning with my clients. It’s one of my favorite things to do. But even with great planning skills, you might still find yourself at the drive-thru window occasionally, and that’s ok. Maybe you are even planning for fast food once a week.
Fast food and drive-thrus seem to have no room in a lifestyle focused on health and wellness, but that’s not entirely true. Sometimes you will have to compromise to keep your sanity. Our lives are busy, and our schedules are tight. Has digestive discomfort ever caused you not to enjoy a day or a special occasion the way you planned?
How smoothly your digestion works can truly make or break your day, especially when you deal with chronic discomfort. Constant acid reflux, bloating, gas, or nausea are things you don't want to have to deal with ever -- much less daily. I have some good news: You can make a few routine shifts to leave your digestive systems feeling a lot more regulated, and it'll be worth your while to explore these and find what works best for you. |
