Are you someone that often questions why you feel the way you do? When you reflect on your day, do you ever wonder what triggered your discomfort at times? Many of us wonder about our bodily reactions, but how many of us actually act on them?
When our bodies react poorly to foods that we consume, we rarely ever take the time to figure out just what is causing our discomfort. Rather than just being curious about these reactions, it’s time for you to discover the root of the issue and work towards a solution. Fortunately, there is an extremely organized and easy-to-use tool at your disposal: a food journal. Most people know that keeping our body hydrated is extremely important yet many of my clients struggle with exactly that. I’m often hearing things like: “I’m just not that thirsty.” or “I keep forgetting to drink my water.” Do you find it difficult to consume your daily water intake? Do you know how much water you should be drinking?
“If a third grader can not pronounce the list of ingredients on a nutrition label I would stay away from it.” I wish I could remember who said this, but it stuck with me.
Before Covid, I did a workshop at a local high school and I let the class read the ingredients of a nutrition label. Then the students had to guess what the actual food was. They didn’t figure it out. It was hilarious and also sad: fruit loops. I wish I had a picture of the faces. A mix between confusion and disgust. |
