professional background
Daniel’s career in health and wellness has spanned the spectrum from strength & conditioning to corporate wellness. He spent three years with EXOS at Google working with employees to improve their health and wellbeing through a mixture of community health promotion and physical activity programs. This experience opened his eyes to the importance of individualized lifestyle interventions for healthy behavior. He felt that supporting people with exercises in the gym simply wasn’t enough.
When he came across the health coaching profession, he had an ah-ha! moment. He immediately fell in love with the coaching process and felt like he had found the missing link to truly helping others achieve better health.
Daniel joined VHC as a Founding Member because his coaching mission aligns so beautifully with ours—both having a spirited dedication to progressing the field of health and wellness coaching. He strives to be the highest quality coach he can be evidenced by his NBC-HWC credential, and pursuit of a PhD in Health Promotion & Wellness.

Daniel founded DV Health & Performance, where the primary focus of his practice is improving his clients’ overall health and well-being through lifestyle medicine to create sustainable change.
At the core of his work lies a cocktail of behavior change strategies and some fundamental, but powerful, coaching tools. Motivational interviewing, mental contrasting & implementation intentions are some of his favorite methods to employ in behavior change and coaching science.

On a Personal Note
Daniel’s personal philosophy is "Live in service. Unwavering Growth. Presence & Enthusiasm." Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a defining feature of Daniel’s daily life. It’s important that he not only supports himself, but his family as well. Even as a health coach, a healthy lifestyle takes constant work and attention! To keep himself accountable he sets physical activity goals each month and relies on the support of his Whoop band.
He loves being with his family, traveling, and serving others. He is living a great life with his fiancé Erica and their puppy Cooper. Daniel has great anticipation of the future as he and Erica envision a future with children. Down the road, Daniel has professional aspirations to support the field of health & wellness coaching through academia, with a specific interest in overseeing a coaching education program at the university level.
