Marcie’s Wellness Alternative
Marcie founded Marcie’s Wellness Alternative to support people who struggle with arthritis, weight loss and type 2 diabetes and other chronic conditions, to give them the personalized support they need to transition to a lifestyle that offers better health, improved outcomes and less pain. She knows that managing the “how to” of your very personal health journey can be confusing, frustrating, and exhausting; you may know WHAT you are supposed to do, but HOW to actually do it can feel daunting, confusing and unattainable.
Marcie knows that everyone’s health journey is different and believes it is critical that you have the right support and guidance to navigate the myriad of options to find what works best for you. Her years of experience enable her to support senior professionals who think they are too busy to fit "healthy" into their lives. Because she has walked in their shoes, she is able to connect to their struggles with empathy and collaborate effectively on strategies that will help them transition to healthier lifestyle behaviors to achieve their personal goals. She offers unconditional support without judgement, and believes self-empowerment is key to the coaching process. She is well versed in change management strategies and motivational interviewing techniques.
Marcie’s Wellness Alternative offers a variety of services for personalized 1:1 coaching, group coaching and corporate settings.

On a Personal Note
After struggling with very aggressive pervasive arthritis for over 20 years, Marcie discovered functional medicine, lost 60 pounds and finally found the answers she had been looking for to turn her own health around. She was able to reclaim her fitness, walk miles without pain and generally felt better than she had in 20 years. It was this experience with the powerful effect of nutrition and other lifestyle changes that led her to becoming a certified health and wellness coach. She loves helping others experience those "aha" moments and discovering how good they can really feel!
Today, she maintains her optimal wellness by fueling her body with nutrient-dense foods that taste great. She works out regularly with a trainer for functional strength training and balance, sees a chiropractor and a massage therapist and does some pilates and yoga. She makes a conscious effort to get quality sleep, drink plenty of water and try to manage stress effectively (this part is still a work in progress).
Marcie loves good food and she loves to cook! She also enjoys helping her clients learn how to make easy healthy meals that taste wonderful. She believes food is medicine and one of her favorite quotes is “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” Marcie sees food as one of life’s great joys and has learned that just because food is “healthy” doesn’t mean it can’t be a gourmet delight, including desserts!
Additionally, she loves spending time with family, friends and her spunky beagle Cooper and spending time in Nantucket near the ocean.
